First purchase on Coinbase

Well, today was fairly exciting. I dipped my second toe into the crypto-currency game today. After seeing the markets of all coins correct, I knew I wanted to purchase today.  Early morning ponderings, research, scheduling and budgeting put a plan together for the day.

Wake up EARLY and get to the only Bitcoin kiosk in town to check the prices. I noticed that when I purchased earlier the same week, the price was reflected of a day earlier, so I was hoping that I would get in with Friday’s lows. Well I popped in, and the kiosk proudly displayed NO MORE COINS!

Arrrrggggg… time for plan be, which was actually a more steady secure plan anyway.

Get the account credentials from my bank, in order to setup online account, and then link to coinbase.

The Cryptocurrency junkie lit the end of the Marlboro light at 7:38AM waking through the drizzle toward the entrance of the bank. eyeing the parking lot over the next few minutes, other typical creatures began to emerge. The older bearded fellow wearing the Harley Davidson shirt, the tall lanky elderly gentleman taking his time toward the entrance, a distinguished well dressed man with a can and hat, an old black grandma hunched over. All wanted to be the first in line through the doors to start the days errands, but I was first in line. I found it odd that as they cordially jockeyed for position, none of them would hold their head high, they would look down, almost like they were ashamed for trying to assert their position in line. There was one person, however, who stood tall, confident, proudly grinning as he took his place in line – graciously inviting a few of the older and more frail characters to be first and get out of the cold.

With the account details quickly collected I was off for a few other errands of the day.

I will admit that I was constantly checking my mobile wallet value – the fluctuation both excited me and made me a bit nervous. this thing is changing 24/7 – NO REST FOR THE WICKED!

I wasn’t able to finish getting verified with coinbase until later that evening. And then made my first purchase there of some bitcoin and ether.

I decided to stay out of bit coin cash because it looked like it could go up or down. Ether was now sitting closer to its weekly low and still falling a bit, but I didn’t want to miss the upswing. Bitcoin had hit the valley Friday and was on its way back up.

One thing I did notice was that the coins wouldn’t be able to trade until 1/5 that’s just short of 2 weeks! quite a while in this marketplace. That would be the advantage of the kiosk – I had that money in my private wallet 5 minutes after waking away from the machine.

Well, It’s Christmas time, I’m broke and happy. Looking forward to what the holiday and the new year might bring.
